Welcome on Board!
Picok stands for Personal Information Cockpit. It's an open source software package, aimed at enableing users to build their personal information dashboards. The users content is loaded into small draggable boxes, so called portlets, and layed out in a tabbed column-based interface. There are a quite few standard portlets shipped with Picok, but since it is an open system, maintainers of picok installations can easily create portlets of their own.
Picok is written in PHP 5, uses the Yahoo User Interface Library and Zend Framework Components and supports MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM Lotus Notes and is ready to be integrated into your corporate intranet, website or community platform as well.

Who's behind Picok
Picok is currently developed and maintained by Liip AG, an Agile Web Development consultancy based in Switzerland (Zürich/Fribourg/Bern).
It's User Experience concept was designed by Zürich based Stimmt AG.
What else?
Picok was originally developpled for the project "Meine Seite 2.0" by Raiffeisen Switzerland, one of the most reputable Swiss banks. Together with the initial project sponsor all functional elements of the original Raiffeisen intranet component were released as open source. Subsequently a number of well-known Swiss organizations both private and public took interest in Picok and are currently exploring its potential.
And we're proud to add: the original Raiffeisen project won the "Best of Swiss Web 2009" silver award for both the categories "Technology Innovation" and "Technology Quality".
Picok 1.0.6 released!
This update fixes a bug where Portlet content was fetched twice when saving the config, also we fixed a bug when deleting subfeeds in not standard language. Some encoding issues have also been addressed.
Picok 1.0.5 released!
This update adds optional logging of method calls to enable analysis of the usage of Picok inside the administration interface.
Picok 1.0.4 released!
A small update making it possible to enable sandboxing for feeds via the admin panel. Also fixed a bug that could cause deleting a portlet icon if a portlet is updated without changing the icon as well.
Picok 1.0.3 released!
This release fixes a few minor issues that slipped through the QA procedures ahead of the last release. One issue prevented the configuration editing to work properly in the administration interface, the other caused issues when using the timetoleave portlet with a proxy server.
We also managed to slip in some more features for the feedreader portlet. In the last release we added support for allowing users to add new feeds themselves. We will now update the settings accoridng to the current configuration. The user provided URL to the source will however only be updated if the setting is currently empty, to prevent malicous modifications to existing portlets. Furthermore we have added a search interface for feeds in the administration tool. This way administrators can also find and edit feeds created by users.
Picok 1.0.2 released!
Following the first maintenance release of Picok, the development team is happy to announce the immediate availability of Picok 1.0.2. The focus again has been fixing bugs, updating portlets to changes in the APIs made by the relevant service providers and improving stability. Installing Picok should now also be easier as the system now handles configuration errors more gracefully and more importantly, there is now a simple script to help check if the server configuration is correct.
A few new features for end users have also made it into this release. For example it is now possible to recommend a portlet in a specific configuration to anyone, even users that are not yet using Picok! The feedreader portlet now also supports separate URL's for each language.
Administrators also benefit from numerous usability improvements. For example portlets can now only be removed if they are not active, the portlet management interfaces are now much better interlinked to make it easy to quickly make adjustments to all aspects of a portlet.
Picok 1.0.1 released!
The Picok development team is proud to announce the immediate availability of Picok 1.0.1. This release focuses on fixing a few bugs, cleaning up icons and features the integration of Lotus Notes over HTTP-Auth.
In addition a few Portlets move from beta to stable, most prominently the Doodle Portlet, which now uses the brandnew Doodle-JSON-API that allows to easily integrate details on polls. We hereby would like to thank the Doodle team for their great cooperation!
